Description: September 2001 - L. WangThe Fisheries Watercourse Classification Data shall be used only as a guideline in determining the classification of stream habitat. Further environmental assessment may be required to verify the accuracy of the classification. The location of streams and the presence of streams that may not be shown should be confirmed. The phrase "no fish documented" for Stream Classifications B and C implies that fish presence is unknown. However, based on habitat characteristics such as stream gradient, access an proximity to know fish-bearing waters (and limited sampling results) in most cases it may be interpreted as "no fish are present". The distinction must be made between fish-bearing and non-fish bearing water in order for the City to apply the appropriate mitigation and compensation procedure with respect to instream works for both "scheduled" and emergency project types. The data proved is compiled from various sources and is not warranted as to its accuracy or sufficiency by the City of Port Coquitlam. This information is provided for information and convenience purpose only.
